Changing O&P Policy: How Evidence Drives Policy Change (AM2025-OS15)
This session will highlight multiple efforts that are currently underway to change policy surrounding O&P. The goal is to empower attendees with the knowledge and tools to collect the relevant data to be used as evidence to effectively drive a change in policy. We will highlight the years of effort that went into the current Medicare LCD proposal for K2 microprocessor feet, current efforts across multiple state Medicaid programs to add codes and increase reimbursement for existing codes, and discuss recent So Every BODY Can Move initiatives. Changing policy takes collaboration across entities to gather and analyze the relevant data to improve access to appropriate O&P technology. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference across the O&P field – get involved today!
