- Demonstrate effective communication skills by practicing the OARS strategies of Motivational Interviewing in interactive sessions, aimed at improving patient engagement and promoting behavior change.
- Evaluate the role of a clinical psychologist in rehabilitation populations, integrating their perspectives to improve interdisciplinary team collaboration and patient outcomes.
Course Description
Fundamental Principles of Behavioral Science for the Prosthetist Orthotist (CP019)
This Certificate program includes lectures on fundamental concepts related to behavioral science, including interdisciplinary team care, clinical empathy, assessing quality of life, the benefits of good communication, and a clinical psychologist’s perspectives on rehabilitation populations. The program includes an interactive session with audience members practicing the OARS strategies of Motivational Interviewing facilitated by a clinical psychologist.
